Waste of moneyby Yahoo | 2009-01-05 14:47:22 |

Cloudy water in the tanks limits viewing; you can see a better display at any petstore. The tanks and/or cages were double and triple stacked in some areas, which limits viewing. The whole place was smelly and dirty, I have visited the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago (which is truly an awesome aquatic experience) and this one in St Louis is a HUGE letdown! For the money we paid, we were very disappointed. The aquarium and museum gives one the impression that a bunch of junk has been loaded into a huge building with no thought about layout or theme. The rude girl at the ticket window gave us no explanations, directions, or visitor guide pamphlet. Don't waste your money - go to the St Louis zoo.

go to the zooby Yahoo | 2008-08-02 02:53:55 |

the world aquarium is a waste of your money. the animals are sick and kept in dirty cages. there were dead animals on display in a few cages. many of the animals can be seen at a petco or petsmart(which is free). the shark tank is dirty, like every other tank. the staff are not knowledgeable or kind. all this for $18 a person? visit the zoo. its free and amazing. a very large and well kept collection.

Fun and Different Experienceby Yahoo | 2008-07-20 14:49:38 |

The aquarium is located inside the City Museum. Neither are your traditional museum or vacation venue. These are highly interactive, modern approaches to art and education with an emphasis exploring. You meander through hallways, tunnels, caves and secret passage ways as you view the aquarium and museum. There's a ton to see and lots ot interact with. I found myself going back and forth making sure I hadn't missed anything. My kids absolutely loved it. It's not cheap and it's best to plan to spend an entire afternoon there viewing, playing and just running around.

Huge Disappointmentby Yahoo | 2008-05-24 02:56:33 |

we studied marine life in our last semester of home schooling and were excited to visit the World Aquarium while on our vacation to St Louis. What HUGE disappointment. You had to pay to get into the City Museum - which in and of itself is NOT for smaller children - and is basically a junk yard of stuff... for $12... then tack on another $6 PER PERSON - Total of $18 EACH. The day we went must have been the day every school in the area also was there because the noise level and amount of children was insanity. We really only wanted to see the aquarium... it was a huge disappointment. Like someone else mentioned - it was just a pet store of sorts... So to have paid that much - we were just sick. We stayed maybe an hour total... and left very upset. We should have had our first clue when they had 4 floors of "stuff" and NO MAPS to cover what was where in the building. Apparently they don't want you to know... it houses a junkyard of goodies. Apparently people just let their children run wild here - but our children - ages 8 and under did NOT enjoy this madhouse. Save your money.

Not worth the cost.by Yahoo | 2007-04-22 03:56:32 |

It was okay and interesting but to take a large family it would cost all your vacation money for this one place. We have a lot of neat things to see that are free or don't cost near as much.

My family loved it!by Yahoo | 2006-12-31 05:49:16 |

This was the perfect place to bring my family. They kids loved all of the hands on experiences and my wife and I loved reading about all of the research being conducted at the aquarium...definitly worth a trip! A+

It's Not The Bestby Yahoo | 2006-08-07 16:39:41 |

I would actually give this about 1 to 2 stars, but my 4 year old loves aquatic life, so he left a happy camper. My biggest complaint is the cost. It cost us $18 a person to get in. The next is it wasn't all that impressive. I like the artistic spin on the aquarium, but I have taken my son to pet shops that has had more beautiful displays. It left me wanting a lot more....
