The Comedy Club is a relatively new venture at the Civic Hall, but a very welcome one nonetheless. Wednesday night (usually mid-month) is comedy night, with some of the top names from London's dynamic comedy circuit, including Andrew Maxwell, Phil Nichol and Hal Cruttenden. Performances are stand-up, cabaret style, invariably with a drinks promotion thrown in, and a lot of heckling and a lot of laughs. Tickets cost around GBP6.
