Overview
Visitors are made very welcome at this outstanding Sydney landmark. Front of House Tours depart approximately every 30 minutes from the Guided Tours Office located on the Lower Concourse and last up to one hour. Backstage Tours are also run occasionally (bookings essential). It should be noted that the Sydney Opera House is a working building and all tours can be curtailed or cancelled at short notice.Hands down, this was the best thing I did in Sydney. It was great to see behind the scenes of the opera house and to learn a lot more about the history/construction of the opera house. We were led throughout the complex by a very entertaining guide and given a chance to see inside both main theaters. There are three short videos that provide background and interviews with important players in the development and construction. In addition, there are plenty of chances for photos of the opera house (but not inside at the stages) and the harbor. I highly recommend.
I did a tour when I was 12. As a 12 year old walking through this incredible building it just takes your breath away!! The tour guide was very entertaining and told you alot about the building and some of the pictures inside of it!! When you get to go into the opera room itself you just stand there in awe! The room was huge and basically awesome! I loved going through this tour. I'm now 17 and trying to plan a trip back here, and having another tour is a must!
This tour was really fun. It told us about the history and the fun intresting details about the opera house. Like how the ruff is made of tiles and they are yellow. If you go on this tour i am positive you will have fun.
