Overview

This important provincial museum, that seems somewhat out of place, was built way back in 1908 during the Japanese occupation of Taiwan. The first floor holds a gallery that usually exhibits paintings. The second floor explores aboriginal culture, teaching visitors about the aboriginal tribes so important to Taiwanese history. Wax statues wearing aboriginal clothing and posed with ancient artifacts are an interesting part of this particular exhibit.
