Avoid The Hilton Tel Aviv - Terrible placeby Yahoo | 2009-08-02 19:55:04 |

I love Israel so much so it pains me to say to avoid the Hilton Tel Aviv at all costs. The pool is freezing year round and unusable, the staff is rude at all times, the sushi restaurant which is mediocre is more expensive than NOBU nyc... parking is $25 a day, the gym is $20 a day (even if you take their overpriced $700 suite). Staff is rude, could go on and on. By the way, the beach at the hotel is the gay beach of Tel Aviv. Avoid this hotel unless you like paying extra.

Good view of med. with full servicesby Yahoo | 2008-06-10 11:55:06 |

The Good: Location and view off the Mediterranean. Full services with good security. Great Hilton Honors club and food. Convenient stores within the hotel. The Bad: Pricey internet connection and extremely slow! Pub on the beach not affiliated with hotel and poorly run. I found the hotel to be operated and managed very good with all the normal all the bells and whistles that full service hotels have to offer. The hotel is walking distance to some descent shopping in Tel Aviv. I had a southern view from my room with partial view of Jaffa. There are several other hotels in the same area of Tel-Aviv but due to Hilton Honors I will use this Hotel again.

Not the greatest Hiltonby Yahoo | 2008-01-20 11:39:12 |

The hotel has a good location next to the beach and within easy reach of Tel Aviv business and shopping districts. The decor in the hotel and my room, which was on the executive level was slightly jaded. My bath had not been cleaned properly. The staff were 'robotically' friendly and do prefer chating to each other rather than dealing with guests. On the whole the room was adequate but not really worth the money paid (USD 300 per night). On the whole an OK standard business hotel, nothing more nothing less. Tel Avib is a place I would visit again personally rather than on business, very friendly with lots to do.

Wouldn't recommend itby Yahoo | 2006-10-24 06:15:12 |

My family stayed here for a wedding, nearly rented an entire floor of the hotel for a week. While the front desk staff was cooperative, they certainly fell short of providing great service. The wait staff in the lobby lounge were atrocious ... after repeated long waits to make an order, pay the bill, etc. we would often have to go find them - generally huddled together in a corner gossiping. When we could get their attention, they seemed to think they were doing us a favor by deigning to serve us. The breakfast staff downstairs were of an entirely different caliber - friendly, attentive ... very welcoming. What a great way to start the day ... My biggest concern with this location is that they seemed to attempt to charge us for anything beyond simply the room itself, and attach exorbitant prices to it. The gym was $20/day, breakfast was 25$/day, and Internet access was 20$/day ... thankfully, I could connect to an open wi-fi access point next door to connect to email. One small nit for us, was the lack of direct access to the beach. Although we were less than 100 feet in front of the water, accessing it required a circuitous path out the front of the hotel, through the park, and down to the back of the hotel.

Make sure it's NON-SMOKINGby Yahoo | 2006-10-08 21:15:53 |

I requested a non-smoking room but was checked into a room that clearly reeked of smoke. I was subsequently changed when I complained, and received a complimentary 1/2 bottle of nice Israeli wine and chocolates. The decor has aged a bit.
