Overview
This naturally wooded park adjoins the Meiji Jingu Shrine, and until 1996 was the venue for Tokyo's amateur rock and roll bands to show their stuff every Sunday. They have since moved to Omotesando, and Yoyogi Park has become quiet, and ideal for lovers and families who like to enjoy a tranquil Sunday afternoon strolling by small ponds filled with koi (Japanese carp). Rental bicycles are available within the grounds during summer. If you like nature you shoud go to Yoyogi Park.Yoyogi Park is very beautiful. In April, Yoyogi Park is a great place to see cherry blossams. Many people come here to do cherry blossoms viewing. I recommend escape the city and go jogging.
A friend in Japan strongly recommended to me the Yoyogi Park. She said it is a shady heaven from Tokyo's summer heat. From the pictures she sent for me, I find Yoyogi Park also burst with color during spring cherry blossom season.Stretching between the magnificent Meiji Shrine(a good place to spy on traditonal weddinds during summer weekends)and the NHK Broadcasting Centre,Yoyogi Park's soaring canopy and national-park-in-a-city feel is a pleasure to stretch your legs. One day,I expect,we can leave the map at home and wander where the mood takes us:)
I used to go a lot in yoyogi park when I used lived in japan. There you can ride a bike, seing people with different clothes, going a temple next to the park,or if you enjoy green area is perfect.
