Overview
The oldest school in Ontario, this private college in Forest Hill provides top-notch educational opportunities for young men from grade two through secondary school. Founded almost 175 years ago, Upper Canada College serves both day students and boarders from all parts of Canada and the world. Aside from its liberal arts curriculum, the school has strong extracurricular activities including sports, drama, community service and environmental studies. The magnificent grounds force Avenue Road eastward, and are dominated by the Georgian clock tower, visible from throughout the city. Partial disabled access is available.Just wanted to say. I'm a student at UCC right now and whatever both of these people have said is very false. whoever wrote the seond review makes UCC sound like we're a bunch of stuck up kids with too much money. well that's not true. if you do come to visit UCC during school hours, i am more than positive that someone will show you around the school, even if its a short tour. and no, not really a tourist attraction you're right. but we do have some of Canada's oldest antiques. UCC BLUES!
Funny the last reviewer called it a touist attraction. None the less, this is the place where many of canada's elite drop their children off for a day of enlightenment. If you really would like to visit, I recommend bike or scooter, if not by bus. This is an area that will give you an iron gate view of how the other ten percent live. As said before, this is not a tourist attraction and visiting during operating hours may find you being escorted by metros finest. Best to walk the surrounding neighbourhood. And talk with the 'locals'. Many of the residents are very friendly though the majority do seem very 'secretive' or reluctant to become targets of opportunity. Use discretion and etiquette and you too can walk amongst the rich and not so famous of canada.
Upper Canada College is not a touist attraction. It is a private high school in Toronto. It does have some interesting architecture, but the school is not open to tourists and therefore really should be crossed off your list.
