I'm not a big fan of planes, but I knew that this was a museum not to miss. I am glad that I went there. The hangars were very well laid out. I really enjoyed it, more than I thought I would. Even if you don't read everything, the planes are all unique and interesting. The volunteers there are very nice and so informative! Kids would love this place! I recommend it!

If you go to Tucson, you cannot miss this. The best museum I've been to this side of a Smithsonian. I walked away reallt appreciative of those who get in the air and serve our country.

Since childhood,my husband has built many plane models of the planes you have. He was so excited when he had a chance to visit the museum. Just not enough time. Wish we had spent days in your area rather than just the day. Yes it was fun well worth the price. If there was anything negative it was the hot weather.................But that is small stuff. Glad to find your site now My husband can show off to his friends and encourage them to come. Thanks for making dreams come true!!!!!

I live in Tucson and get visit the air museum a few times a year. I am happy to say that quite a bit of renovation has occurred and that the place looks good. It was good weather this time of year so I didn't make it to any of the hangers besides through the entrance (hanger #1) but the grounds have been kept up and there is some new life in the fields. The civilian aircraft near the main road have left a void. I wonder what will fill it. To me the downfall of this place is the lack of information. History on each plane would be nice. Next time I go I will take a note pad, write down the markings and look up some of the planes.

I do like the collection there. They just put up a new hanger that houses the SR-71, my favorite and added acouple of more planes I`ll be there for a third time.

Our first visit, my partner is a real plane enthusiast. Was so breathtaking and loads to see. The weather was just right (going in October, so not so hot). So many wonderful planes, one of the highlights of my whole US trip was walking around Airforce 1, Kennedy's plane...wow, can't put it into words, to actually step foot in it, to walk around it? Being part of history..fantastic. The tram ride was interesting and informative. We look forward to returning next time and I would recommend anyone visiting Tucson to visit this place

My grandsons loved it (ages 8 and 10). They asked to 'come back tomorrow'. This seems to be more interesting for males. My sister and I were not as interested as the men. I found it very hot outside to walk around. However, this may have been remedied if we had gotten there in time to take the tour bus. Many exhibits were in hangers which were said to be cooler than the grounds. If we had gone in Sept to May, it may have been better for us who can't tolerate the heat.

If you like history or aircraft definitely go here! We spent over four hours here and still didn't see everything. Most definitely take the bus tour through AMARC. It was fascinating. The staff is extremely friendly and very knowledgable. My 11 year old daughter loved it, I could barely tear my husband away. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and bring water. (or you'll pay $1.75 per bottle) We took tons of pictures and would go back in a heartbeat.

If you're a plane buff, you're going to LOVE this place. If you're just the average tourist, you'll find it entertaining. I would visit this exhibit in the late fall or early spring. We went in August on a 110 degree day and 70% of this exhibit is outside. They do offere water for sale in the gift shop, but it does little to combat the heat. Little ones would never be able to handle this during the summer months. It takes a couple of hours to go through the whole museum so plan ahead. We really enjoyed it.

This was a fantastic Museum! I love all the different planes and helicopters they have on display! You even get to walk up into JFK's old "Airforce One" and look around at the original items. There are a lot of educated staff ready to answer any questions you may have. There is also a great "hands on" Space area for the kids. We were lucky to see a 4 foot diamond-back rattlesnake there, so keep your kids close! There was a lot of war history there too!
