We can't wait to be able to go back again!by Yahoo | 2008-11-12 18:36:01 |

I loved every part of that trip and I escpecially loved to be able to see animals in thier natural habitat.

Great experienceby Yahoo | 2008-07-03 16:24:00 |

The layout was unique and beautiful. You didn't feel like you were in a zoo setting. I loved how the scorpions and spiders were in the wall, under fake rocks. This is a great place for families and adults. The docents were very polite and informative. I would love to go back!

well worth the trip!by Yahoo | 2008-05-27 20:46:48 |

this was my first visit to the museum/zoo. Wow! What a place. The aviery is the best I have ever been in. We spent about 1/2 hr. just sitting and listening to all the birds. The cat canyon was excellent and a nice place to cool off. My son loved the cave. We will visit this whenever we make it to Tucson.

Live in PA and am a member of museumby Yahoo | 2008-03-12 02:42:46 |

I love the desert museum so much that I became a member even though I live on the East Coast! It is a wonderful place to see all the wildlife that is in the Sonoran Desert. I am always amazed at the animals and how visible they are. It is a must see for any visitors to the Tucson area.

I'm goin' back in December 2008by Yahoo | 2008-02-29 22:44:36 |

The open spaces make a scooter necessary for me. It was an amazing experience for a city kid from the Midwest, who has only seen cactus at the Conservatory Garden! Who knew these animals were all out there? I'm excited about seeing more of it, so we're going to drive this time!

Hoghly Recommend this one!by Yahoo | 2008-02-09 21:23:41 |

I live in Tucson, and alway recommend this place! If you don't see ANYTHING else in Tucson and want to learn something, see the Desert Museum. Bring a hat, and a bottle of water though (the gift shop also sell them) To save money, the Visitors and Convention Bureau sells a book that will save you money while in Tucson area. No I don't work for them, but it is a great deal. Have fun!

Not a regular museumby Yahoo | 2008-02-09 16:05:05 |

This is more like a small desert zoo than typical museum. It's basically a piece of the desert fenced off, but many of the animals come and go through the fence. The big cats are all in enclosures, but coyotes, javelinas, and other smaller animals roam freely. Go first thing in the morning, and you'll see more animals, and more activity. Take water because you'll wander along paths on the grounds. There is a surprisingly decent restaurant/snack bar on site, as well as a coffee stand, which is good for a hot cup of tea on a chilly morning. The place is run by docents, who are these friendly senior citizens who love to share their knowledge and love of the place. It doesn't take long to see the entire place, and well worth it.

THis place is a national treasureby Yahoo | 2008-02-01 01:53:40 |

I loved the way that the animals and environment come first, and the incredible care and thought that obviously went into developing the museum. We spent about 3 hours there, but I easily could have spent the whole day. I would love to come back one day. The indoor exhibitions were excellent, very informative, and well laid out. I also liked that the museum is involved in trying to save endangered species. One thing I thought was a bit hokey was the artificial cavern. I also was a bit uncomfortable with the barn owl and American kestrel on display on the arm of a docents. The aviary was much better. The Mexican wolf enclosure could be bigger - those guys definitely were looking for a way out and seemed bored. I understand why they're in captivity, but more space and things in the enclosure to give them something to do would be good.

Became a member on my first visit!by Yahoo | 2007-10-23 21:57:53 |

The Desert Museum was such a wonderful experience for my daughter, grandson and myself. It has everything a zoo, museum and park has to offer all in one place. I will be spending my winters in Tucson and I can't wait to use my guest passes to show my Northeast Ohio friends and family what a fantastic experience the museum is.

A Must See if You're in Tucson!by Yahoo | 2007-08-22 00:27:39 |

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is one of the best places to visit in Tucson. My favorite time to go is the Saturday evening events they have during the summer. The animals which have hibernated all day come out, and you can see snakes, wolves, bears, all kinds of desert wildlife. Make sure to visit the Butterfly Exhibit and the Hummingbird Sanctuary. Both are awesome!
