I decided to give this place a try when a late night craving for chocolate cake was too strong to ignore. What a huge waste of calories. I am a purist and like my chocolate cake plain and without icing so I tried the closest thing on the menu, the chocolate mudd cake. The cake was served ice cold and had a "wetness" to the texture that made me feel like it had been sitting in the fridge the last couple of weeks. It wasn't soft and moist the way fresh cake should be. I can and have made a better tasting cake out of a box. To wash my so-called "true confection" down, I was treated to watery coffee that had no flavor, body, aroma or richness to it. I brew Illy coffee every morning at home which tastes a thousand times better. The lighting and the music also left alot to be desired. As I forked over TEN plus dollars for my inedible concoction..yes, that's TEN dollars folks...all I could think to myself was how can a restaurant that specializes only in dessert serve lousy chocolate cake and coffee, isn't that dessert 101?
