Overview
If you are from Vancouver to Vancouver Island or visiting the Gulf Islands or Sunshine Coast, chances are you are aboard a boat operated by BC Ferries. Ferries gives passengers the chance to explore the islands and inlets along the province's coastline and see magnificent ocean vistas. Whale-spotting is the most popular way to pass the time on these large and safe ferries. Cost depends on passengers' itineraries and whether they are boarding by foot, bicycle or automobile. Their website and contact phone numbers have detailed information on sailing times, prices and on-board amenities. The ferries are nice. Sitting on the top outer deck on a warm summers day basking in the sun and enjoying the view and possible marine life is great. But, we would travel more, if it didn't cost nearly one hundred dollars to get off the rock! There should be a price break for the Islanders and Lower Mainland residents. Come on BC Ferries, give us a break....cause ultimately if and when there is a chance for a bridge, we may just vote on one! Pay the same to get there faster....I'm game!
Victoria, B.C. is a beautiful city, lots of friendly folks who love to see you bring your U.S. dollar. But, Victoria has a problem that few if any of the tourists are aware of: Victoria pumps over 40 million gallons of raw sewage in to the ocean every single day! That's right, 40 million gallons of raw sewage! For a country and city that tout themselves as some natural paradise, dumping millions of gallons of raw toilet waste is disgusting and hypocritical--boycott Victoria until they clean up their act! The only way to get them to change this is to stop going there.
Except for waits on holidays, there is no better way to travel than the ferry. I really would like to take the ferry up the Discovery Coast to Prince Rupert & the Queen Charlotte Islands
Mattick's Farm is a unique shopping place, where you can relax, shop or play mini golf. What a great setting, and a wonderful place, it is located 20 minutes from downtown, and the perfect place to hang.
We've tried just about every ferry available and have had a great trip with BC everytime. Nice on-line ressie system, the ferries always seem to be on time, and the on board amenities are more than adequte. Not to mention a very scenic trip from vancouver to victoria. Definettly worth the trip up north...avoid washington state ferries..if they're even still in business
The BC ferry was much cheaper than American ferries. Also a much easier location to board. Very spacious I have already recommended it.
Nice fun for kids and parents alike! Great cafeteria , great views!
