Eat, Shop, Dine, Sweets, Viewsby Yahoo | 2007-05-23 18:39:06 |

This has been my 4th trip to Vancouver, BC..always no mandatory that I get to Grandville Island Marketplace- first you can walk there, taxi, the city buses, or by water-taxi, just get there! Wonderful sights for the entire family..I mean from ages 0 to 102! LOVE walking around, the places to shop and eat. GRANDVILLE ISLAND has it all. The local artist are there from pictures to hand-crafted jewlery - to home made soaps and farm grown locale produce. LOVE THE PLACE. You have a taste bud it will be greatly happh here at Gandville Island. For the value of time and money there is no other place in Vancouver that compares to this place. I loved Yaletown, Gastown, but I hung out at Grandville Island until they close daily at 7pM. Even if you are into the arts of live performance, yes that is there too. Enjoy, Enjoy Entreat yourself.

Good place to spend an afternoonby Yahoo | 2006-12-19 23:41:56 |

Granville Island is a nice and lively place. It is fun to wander around the unique shops, and even spending some time to visit the mini Railroad Museum is worth it.

Come Hungryby Yahoo | 2006-11-29 01:59:35 |

Make sure you come hungry because as you walk around all the different food stands you will be tasting and enjoying every bite! Well worth the trip out.

Lots of food!by Yahoo | 2006-10-29 23:40:34 |

We didn't like parking situation. There should be something better to get locals and tourist's to visit here without being such a turn off to get there. Once we found parking the place was amazing with food everywhere! The smell you'd expect at a local market...good and bad. Mostly good smells, from flowers, to sausages, and fruits, to cookies. The birds is another matter. Watch were you step or where they may fly above you. Overall, a great place to shop for whatever your hearts desires. I'd recommend at least visiting and if you go on an empty stomach you'll come back very happy!

A Refreshing Way to Spend an Afternoonby Yahoo | 2006-08-30 01:12:15 |

Yes I am one of those ubiquitous tourists. It is so refreshing for me to visit the beautiful city of Vancouver - I live in a city that has a different type of natural beauty, albeit hot and humid coastal plain/swamp. Perhaps one of these days I'll get the gumption to move to Vancouver and then I'll be at the Granville Island Public Market every day to shop amongst the fresh salmon, pasta, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits, as well as the absolutely gorgeous flowers. Waterfront living is a novelty to me as well - I love to sit on the promenade facing False Creek and just soak in the view. Granville Island Brewery is a must see for me every time I go as well. So if you are not blessed to live in a location with abundant natural beauty everywhere you look, I highly recommend a visit to Vancouver and Granville Island.
