Iliked it met, nice people there. I want to go back. Like the title it's awesome i got to ride a gondola and I happened to be there on a day when there was a carnival and I got a mask. Yes it was great but to anyone going bring a wallet full of money! Please go it's great and if you don't go your'e only cheating yourself. Oh and a tip to all people who are deciding between 2 places go to Venice because a trip to Venice might even give you the inspiration to write a book like it did to me! Have fun in Venice but learn Italian first!
More spectacular than any photo could portray. A real slice of Venice. Be sure to spend time winding through the little passageways to get a real feel of Venetian life. A multitude of shops exists with locally made glass objects almost too beautiful to gaze upon. We had the best lunch of our lives here.
The only problem is that it was expensive when we were visiting because of the falling value of the dollar. It is definately worth the time and the money. You can see the whole city in 3 days.
Venice is amazing. There is no other place in world like venice. The best place to see in Venice is the square. You can move around at your own pace. Truly awesome.
Absolutely loved Venice! If you like ancient architecture and art, you will love this city! When I walked into San Marco Square it literally took my breath away! What a beautiful place! Wonderful for romantics and lovers, especially in the evening. As the sun sets it casts a beautiful glow over the entire city. I would recommend a visit to Venice to anyone!
Its beautiful, it has a wonderful atmosphere, it has lots of pigeons that you can feed and theres lots of different places to visit, both expensive and cheap. Also, beacause I went towards the end of the year there were less crowds which made it even better. There's something for everyone, not just in the San Marco Piazza, but in the whole of Venice. I would DEFINATELY go again!
I recently visited the amazing city of Venice, and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I know that everyone has seen pictures or movies depicting the beautiful city, but when you actually go there you see that those pictures could never actually do it justice. It literaly takes your breath away.
Piaza San Marco is a huge theater to watch all the tourists. It has something for everyone architecture which is stupendus birds a plenty of both kinds.I like to just find a nice place to sit in one of the resturants outside of course where they play the piano and order a wonderful gin which they serve you with nibbles and then you can just take take Venice in.Let all its sounds and smells and colors fill your mind and soul and you will be forever tied to Venice.
Yes, the place is a cliche of a cliche, and its the biggest, most wonderful living room in this phenomenal world. Imagine being able to walk into an ancient open air room at nightfall, a full moon hanging over the Campinile Tower, and a live, small orchestra is playing Ennio Morricone's "Once Upon A Time In the West," and all you can think is... this must be Heaven. The orchestra is always facile, attractive, dutiful. The espresso is always potent, if pricey. Hang around the Cafe Florian until 1 or 2 AM. Sometimes there's a musical Venetian who will wander out with his flute or violin and take advantage of the eerie acoustics. Chances are someone will hit up on you for a late night tryst, and be choosey: Venice bleeds with intrigue and a twinge of the diabolical. She has many, many faces, but most wonderful. Go let the magic happen. Ditch your guidebooks. Go get lost in Venice, just avoid the red dwarf. As for people who complain that it sometimes smells, or is, ha, old, well, stay home and vegetate in front of your plasma screen with your DVDs. Leave Venice for the dreamers and poets and lovers.
This is a great place to relax and grab a beer at one of the cafes. We used this as our main meeting points for our group since it is the easiest landmark to find. Would not recommend buying your souveniers in the shops around the Piazza as you will find the prices much higher than others in Venice.
