Overview

Flex is the place for fans of non-commercial music. However, this does not mean that they don't play commercial sounds at all. The music and DJs vary nightly; Wednesdays are "London Calling" with independent music; Thursdays are known as "Dub Club" and feature drum & bass and hip-hop. It is not overcrowded (around 200 people on a normal night) although the dance floor can hold about 600 people. There is a coffee shop at the water's edge where you can wait before it opens (5p). However, crowds rarely gather at Flex before midnight. Check out the detailed Web site for details.

So niceby Yahoo | 2007-09-25 14:40:21 |

The Flex club is easy to find down in the danube channel. The entrance shows immediately underground look (like old metro station or something), inside it's a mix of vintage and modern look with big plasma screens. Don't miss the wednesday underground nights (london calling) with exclusively alternate rock DJ. Lot of nice people and great atmosphere.

I went to Flex twice. This club looks shady at first but it is great. It's right along the river under the train tracks. It's got a great local vibe. The bar area is cool with lots of tables and a computer that lets you choose which song to play. The sound system in the dance area is really nice. But depending on the type of music they play, it may or may not be worth it to pay the cover which was about 7-8 euro. One night they played hip hop/reggae and the other night they played all techno/house. This is a club def worth checking out. Easy to find: Take the U2 or U4 linie and get off of Schottenring.
