Mo to Fr from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PMWe loved our visit to DC. The Tourmobil is great and a great 2 day pass Rate. We spent 3 days in DC. the tour mobil made it a easy route of travel. Monuments and cemetary tour is fabulous. Old post office and Union Station is a days tour in itself. Spy museum not worth the money. Wouldn't return there. White House visitors center worth the time. PA Visitors
I'm visiting my sister and rode Tourmobile yesterday. I hate the 25 minute winter schedule because that's too long a wait when it's cold. The narrators were very good and quite knowlegeable. Most were very pleasant and helpful. It's much better than Trolley which is unheated...and Open-Top with those stupid recordings which are never in sync with where you are. Tourmobile stops right in front of most attractions. On others we often had a long walk. Go Tourmobile. It's the best.
just came back from dc this past this weekend.my church was attending a conference in md andhad fellowship at the jefferson memorial. the day before me, my wife and sister got on the tourmobile.i had planned since the 90's to ride it but because of my army reserve commitments other ones, never made it. it was great the 25 dollars was worth it and the drivers were not reading off a script.we had a driver from another company tried to get us to hop on his bus but i was familiar with tourmobile and said no.we learned plenty of history and got plenty of pictures and memories.my nephew and his fiancee wants to do this trip and we recommended it to them...
Tourmobile employees have no compassion for the tourists they are being paid to serve. We were left sitting on hot tourmobile in Arlington for 35 minutes with the gates to the mobil "locked". I had 4 children with me, all in need of water, and I had to climb over the gate to bring this concern to the attention of our driver. When I did inform them of the problem the only resolution offered was that we could get off the bus and wait for the next one. When we finally got in and I got water for my children, I went to complain the manager. To my surprise not a single time in my conversation with him did even bother ask if all the children were okay, or could they help with them at all. He merely passed blame off to another group. When asked who I could talk with above him, I was told there was no one. He refused to give me an address or phone number I could use to contact someone above him. All in all a total disregard for the wellfare of the citizens they "claim" to service.
Unbelievable Tour of the city. Maybe I was lucky but the tourguide gave an unbelievable tour. He was a retired school teacher and knew his history of the city and the United States . He added little known facts and antedotes were great. His enthusiasm made me ride the entire trip throughout the city.Look for the retired school teacher.
The guide was informative, but other tours give you a guided tour of the monuments and the Old Trolley also includes the Iwo Jima memorial. You were in a hurry at every monument and I would have enjoyed the guide taking us to the monuments and explaining the behind the scenes events that led up to the monuments being created. Do not take if you are slow and like to take your time.
I used Tourmobile on a recent trip to D.C. I relied on Old Town Trolley Tours, which I highly recommend, to see most of the city. I only used Tourmobile because they have a monopoly at the sprawling Arlington Cemetery. The guides were really rude and discourteous. For example, at one of the stops where we did not intend to get off the vehicle, we had to get off temporarily anyway so that the people to our left could get out of the vehicle. We were then told that, in order to get back on, we'd have to get in line, even though we hadn't really ever gotten off. My experience with Tourmobile put such a bad taste in my mouth that I would rather traverse the entire Cemetery on foot in 98 degree weather than deal with Tourmobile again!
I live in Washington, DC and Tourmobile is the worst way to see the city. Walking, driving, or riding the metro is by far a better way to see the city. The tour guides have the most annoying voices, they tell you obvious stuff about the various monuments. And even though the bus is on time, it's never there when you want to see the next site.
JUST GOT BACK FROM A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!USED THE TOURMOBILE FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP...THE BEST OPTION IS TO BUY THE "AMERICAN- HERITAGE" PASS WHICH IS GOOD FOR TWO DAYS...THEY'LL COSTS YOU $30 PER ADULT AND $15 PER CHILD...THE TOUR: THEY TAKE YOU TO ALL THE GREAT SITES AROUND THE CITY: ARLINGTON,NATION MALL, LINCOLN MEMORIAL...ETC...YOU JUST HOP-OFF AND-ON ANY TIME UNTIL ABOUT 3:30PM...THAT'S WHEN THE LAST "RUN" STARTS...THE WAITING TIME IS ABOUT 15 TO 20 MINUTES TO BE PICKED UP FROM A SITE...THE GUIDE INSIDE THE BUS WAS INFORMATIVE AND AMUSING!! ONE LAST THING, WHEN THE TOUR GETS AROUND THE "NATIONAL-MALL" (AROUND THE SMITHSONIAN'S) THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT YOU WILL GET STUCK IN TOUR BECAUSE THE THE ROAD IS CONGESTED WITH OTHER TOUR BUSES...IT TOOK OUR BUS A GOOD 1/2 HOUR TO MOVE AROUND THAT AREA!!! I SUGGEST TO START YOUR TOUR EARLY (THEY OPEN AT 9:00 AM) HAVE FUN AND THANKS YOU READING!!!! ROB
The tourmobile sounds good on paper. But for $60.00 ( 2 adults and 2 kids)you can take a taxi and metro for less and get to where you want to see. They fail to tell you that if the bus is full and only 10 people get off at a stop then only 10 people can get back on. You may have to wait another 25 min. more and hope that the next bus you are able to ride. You spend alot of time waiting for the bus to get there and you may not get on. A lot of time wasted too, waiting for people to get on and off. There is alot to see in DC and you can walk or take the taxi.
