Visiting Gumbo Limbo was wonderful. I found the staff very pleasant, professional, and informative. It is a lovely place and your children will have a great day. We will continue to visit during the year and I recommend this Nature Center to everyone. Everyone was very friendly and it was a great experience!
What a wonderful place to visit with the family or a date, or just by yourself. Beautiful boardwalk, saw butterflies, spiders, racoons, mangrove trees. You never know what you'll see each time you go. Several aquariums, and holding tanks with sharks, rays, eels, sea turtles, and much more. Asking for a small donation of $3. Can't beat that deal. I go everytime I come down to Boca Raton to visit the folks. Go to Gumbo Limbo, you won't be disappointed.
ive lived in nh untill june of last year we moved down here to boca raton, very different place, gumbo was great we had many questions and they told us what we wanted to know, you can see baby turtles and larger ones, fish, sharks in a small tank...the small hike was fun even though there were many creatures on our way through...the tower you can climb up to is a little shaky but it was nice to see a little area untouched by the crazy building down here...overall i would go again! and you dont have to give 3 dollars we each gave 2...
Yesterday we spend a pleasant hour at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. We took the short hike along the Boardwalk through the Mangrove Hammock which was pretty cool. On the walk there is a 3 story wooden tower that you can walk up and be above the tree line. Back at the nature center we visited the outdoor tanks with sea turtles and fish. We found the volunteers to be pleasant, helpful and informative. It is a nice place to visit. The cost is 3 dollars suggested donation per person.
Everyone there was informative & helpful. I learned more in the 2 hours about sea turtles than I have ever known! It was a great experience for both young & old.
I love the place, I have been taking my children there for the past 7yrs,all 20 of them ( I'm a teacher). But unfortunatley the people that work there are very rude and not friendly at all. What bothers me most is the managment must be ok with this problem as it has been the same for years, I tolerate it because it is a good educational expieriance for my children,If not for the children I would not return. So how about it guys give your staff some training on friendliness and manners when dealing with the public. And Volanteers if you don't want to do the job find something that does'nt deal with the public and children it can hurt a childs esteem when they are snapped at when asking Questions.
It's a beautiful place but the people who work their are very unpleasant. A couple of volunteers and one female employee were either unhelpful or just plain rude. I won't be going back.
