Overview

An early Japanese farming settlement in Palm Beach County inspired this breathtaking attraction, which presents a Bonsai exhibit on the museum's Yamato Island. Visitors are invited to take part in the Fibbers Forum, an interactive exhibit based on a Japanese quiz show and to view art and artifacts in the display, The Yamato Colony: Pioneering Japanese in Florida. The oriental gardens evoke an air of tranquility that keeps the locals coming back to this relaxing, fascinating bit of Asian culture.

I f you have the least bit interest in Japanese culture, this is the place to go. I am a resident of Delray Beach and I am proud of our Morakami Museum. I have visited it on more than one occasion because I like to show it off to our guests who visit us. Each time I've taken someone there, they are in awe of how nice it is. Do yourself a favor and go!

A wonderful place to visitby Yahoo | 2005-09-24 23:13:28 |

My mom and I visited the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens together. The gardens are fantastic. There is a path that takes you through the gardens. You will see water features and bridges and japanese buildings and gardens. My fav was huge zen garden. The Bonsai area is very interesting. There is tea house that should not be missed. There is also a Koi pond ... they even sell bags of food to feed the HUGE koi. There is also a fun little exhbit of japanese objects where you guess their real purposes. Overall a lovely garden not to be missed.

A truly beautiful and unique garden experience. Morikami is a very special place, and unless you're adverse to walking, nature or tranquility, you'll love it. The gardens change throughout the year, and this is one of those rare spots that you'll enjoy as much on your 10th visit as on the 1st. Highly recommended!
