Now operated as a non-profit organization by the Manitoba Jockey Club, the Downs thrive once again. Although live horse racing is only in summer, the simulcast broadcasts and warm hospitality keep players coming in droves. Sunday is Family Fun Day at the track, featuring pony rides, a petting zoo, crafts and face painting. Facilities include a Souvenir Center, two restaurants and 100 new VLT's for simulcast viewing. General admission is free to all; clubhouse admission is CAD2. The place also very frequently plays host to various conventions and trade shows.

We went there for our Mother's Birthday. It was fun my mother got a race named after her and she got to present a trophy to the owner of the horse that won the race and had her picture taken with the horse and owner. The food was great and a good value, and it was fun sitting and watching the races and making bets on them from the comfort of our own table. I would recommend this as a place for an outing for those who are looking for something different.

I liked the horses because my favorite animal is horses. I also collect them. I think that more people should go to manitoba because it is a very intresting place. With lots of things to do.

I took a trip to Winnipeg and I went to the Assiniboia downs track. I loved horse racing and I had the BEST time ever there. It was so much fun. and if you go on sundays theres lots of fun for the whole family!
