Overview

This memorial immortalizes the life of Zheng Chenggong whose life has taken on a mythical status. Some label him as a brutish pirate who waged war on the popular Qing dynasty, while others praise him as a local hero for expelling the Dutch from Taiwan in 1662. Regardless of what he was or what he did, this hall champions his military exploits. Historical relics are many and include swords, stone inscriptions, a bronze cannon and even a jade belt worn by Chenggong.
